16歳のイスラエル人学生ヨナタン・フランケルさんは、高校の毎年恒例のイスラエル南部旅行中に、1600年前のローマ時代の石油ランプを発見した。 16-year-old Israeli student, Yonatan Frankel, discovered a 1,600-year-old Roman-era oil lamp during his high school's annual trip in southern Israel. このランプはヨルダンのペトラで作られ、西暦4～5世紀に遡り、ローマ時代後期のメザド・ザフィールの砦で石を調べていたヨナタンによって発見された。 The lamp, dating back to the 4th-5th centuries CE and produced in Petra, Jordan, was found by Yonatan while examining stones at the Late Roman fort of Mezad Tzafir. その後、彼の教師でありガイドがその遺物をイスラエル考古学局の考古学者に引き渡した。 His teacher and guide subsequently passed the artifact to an archaeologist from the Israel Antiquities Authority.
