Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia of Bangladesh will be posthumously awarded the 'Best Indomitable Woman in Advancing Democracy' on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. 女性・児童省が掲げる名誉は,民主主義機関の再建における彼女のリーダーシップを認めるものである. The award comes amid concern over women's low political representation, with only 4.24% of candidates in the February 12 parliamentary elections being women and just seven winning seats.
