On World Polio Day, October 24, 2025, the Rotary Club of Norwich planted 2,000 purple crocus corms at Bawburgh in partnership with the John Innes Centre to support global polio eradication. 紫色 の ワニ は , 予防 接種 を 受け た 後 に 紫色 の インク の マーク を 受け た 子供 たち を 象徴 し て い ます。 The purple crocus symbolizes children who receive a purple ink mark after vaccination. この取り組みは、ジョージ・ロモソフ教授が率いる、ウイルスに似た粒子技術を用いた、より安全で生きたポリオワクチンの研究を目指すものである。 The effort highlights ongoing research into safer, non-live polio vaccines using virus-like particle technology, led by Professor George Lomonossoff.
