Nigeria’s Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is preparing a nationwide strike after a two-week ultimatum to the federal government expired on October 5, 2025, with no resolution reached on a renegotiated agreement submitted in February. この組合は、幾年にもわたって必要でなかったことから、資金不足、労働条件の低さ、ナイジェリアの大学における世界的な競争力の向上を図るための努力などを巡ってスタッフを動員している。 The union, citing years of unmet demands, is mobilizing staff over issues including underfunding, poor working conditions, and efforts to improve the global competitiveness of Nigeria’s universities.
