Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that petroleum products and alcohol will remain outside the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system. GSTの2017発の打ち上げ以来、これらの商品は,外国業務及びVATを通じて,政府にとって重要な収入源となっている. Excluded since GST's 2017 launch, these items are key revenue sources for the government via excise duties and VAT. GSTに導入すれば,国家財政の自治性を縮小し,税を分離し,小売価格の高騰に寄与する可能性がある. Integrating them into GST could reduce states' fiscal autonomy, keeping their taxes separate and contributing to higher retail prices.
