The spill polluted the marine ecosystem, caused economic damage to local fisheries, and led to health concerns. ケーララ高等裁判所は,同社が請求の担保を提出するまで,MSCの別の船であるアキテタIIを逮捕するよう命じた. The Kerala High Court has ordered the arrest of another MSC ship, the Akiteta II, until the company deposits security for the claim. MSCはこの訴訟についてコメントをしていない. MSC has not commented on the lawsuit.
