China has launched its third major project to transmit electricity from the energy-rich Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to Chongqing, using an 800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current line. このプロジェクトは、ハミとチョンキーンを結びつけるが,再生可能資源の半数以上を対象とする,毎年36億キロワット時間以上の電力を供給することを期待されている. This project, connecting Hami to Chongqing, is expected to deliver over 36 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, with more than half coming from renewable sources. この取り組みは地域経済発展の促進と炭素排出の削減を目的とし,2060年までに中国が炭素の 中立性を実現するという目標に適合する.
