イギリスの労働党議員Liam Conlonは,アイルランドの母と赤ちゃんの家庭の生存者が英国の給付を受けることなく補償を受けることを助けるために,議会で"Philomena's Law"を導入しました. UK Labour MP Liam Conlon has introduced "Philomena's Law" in Parliament to help survivors of Irish mother-and-baby homes accept compensation without losing access to UK benefits. 現在,賠償金の受給は,手段試験の給付及び社会福祉支援により被保険者の資格を剥奪する可能性がある. Currently, accepting compensation could disqualify survivors from means-tested benefits and social care support. フィレナ・リーにちなんで名付けられたこの法律は,イギリス在住の1万3000人の生存者を援助するとともに,財政上の罰金を防止する規則を改正することを目的としている. Named after Philomena Lee, the law aims to assist up to 13,000 survivors living in Britain by amending UK rules to prevent financial penalties.
