The vehicle, carrying 32 people from Mbalizi to Ilembo, overturned into a gorge around 6:45 a.m. local time. 地元当局者は,乗客の圧力を受け,トラックが欠陥を被ったにもかかわらず,運転手が運転を続けていたと報告した. Local officials reported that the driver, pressured by passengers, continued driving despite the truck's defects. 5人は現場で死亡し, 6人は病院に運ばれながら負傷により死亡した. Five individuals died at the scene, while six others succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.
